For Sale: Buckeye Banjo - $2,450 USD
This Buckeye #017 is sweet and elegant. The rim is curly maple and the neck is a prominent curly maple with a honey finish. Its 12” pot with fiberskin head delivers a warm, deep, and punchy tone, with plenty of sustain. The fingerboard is scooped so you can play there for that old-time plunk if you want to. The bridge is a Galbreath original that looks a little like an old railroad bridge. It plays like butter! This banjo is in like-new condition except for some minor playing wear on the head. It includes a hardshell case (this has some wear but is in good condition). I know Greg’s waiting list is pretty long, so here’s an opportunity to skip the line and own one of his beautiful instruments! Feel free to contact Greg Galbreath at Buckeye Banjos for additional information about this banjo.

2006 Deering Tenbrooks "Legacy" Model; this is the mahogany version of the Tenbrooks group. Also has the Famous "Jens Kruger" Tone Ring.
This banjo is truly a closet queen. Originally purchase in 2006 by a man that lived close to the Deering manufacturing facility, he purchased this banjo with the intent of learning to play.
After a short struggle, the banjo went to the closet only to come out for sale just a few months ago. This is a Strong bluegrass banjo and the Kruger tonering really makes it RING!!
5th String Spikes at 7th & 9th Frets.
Trades Considered: Greg Rich era & pre war Gibsons.

For Sale: PRICE DROP! GIBSON 1926 Style 3 w/ Frank Neat neck - $3,800 USD
I'm lowering the price in order to fund another banjo that I really want to purchase. I'm also going to include another tone ring.
The description is as follows: Frank Neat neck & Keith D-Tuners.
The photos show a Mitch & J 38 Special Tone Ring, but I took it out and
replaced it with another tone ring from a banjo that I sold recently. (The tone ring came out of a Frank Neat RB4.
I do not know the brand of the tone ring that's in it now.) The only reason why I removed the Mitch tone ring was
because it was gold. Again, I'm going to include the Mitch tone ring in the price. The price also includes shipping (within reason).
Comes with a TKL case with a repaired handle. Also, there has been a repair on the OUTSIDE EDGE of the one piece flange.
I got the banjo in a trade with Barry Waldrep from Banjo.com. I'm not super educated in the prewars, but this is my 3rd one.
I'm only dropping the price because I found another banjo that I wish to purchase.

For Sale: 1984 Gibson Mastertone - $1,600 USD
This is a nice 1984 Gibson Mastertone that had been in storage for many years before I got it. It was very musty smelling so I took it apart and carefully cleaned the entire banjo. The banjo is all original except for the head and bridge. The bridge is a half inch Golden Gate. The only odd thing about this banjo is how the railroad spikes were installed. Someone purposely made divots in the neck for the spikes. My luthier inspected this banjo and said it was in great shape and that the divots made it to easy to set the string underneath. It has a three ply rim and a very big voice. I am selling it only because I have come to the realization that I am a Deering girl. This neck and action are difficult for me to get used to. There is a case but I have never been able to get the musty smell out. I will include the case if you want it. please feel welcome to contact me with any questions. Edited to add shipping costs and a photo of the resonator.

For Sale: 70's Fender Artist, PRICE REDUCED--$899.00 (WAS $1099.00) - $899 USD
I bought this banjo last fall from a HO member and am very satisfied with it except I need some money. The banjo is loud and has some depth and plays well up and down the neck. After I loosened the head, I really came to life. I'm afraid to keep adding more info because I keep getting kicked out of this form for posting an ad. Serial no. is 04439. I can take more pictures if you like. I didn't clean up any of the nickel parts because I didn't want to try to get the set up back to where it is now. Included is the original owners manual and I will include a Snark tuner and a couple of sets of strings shown in the picture. Strap included. The banjo is actually better than "Very good" but I always try not to go overboard when describing condition.
The banjo was sold but I took it back because there are cracks in the flange and rim. I DID NOT KNOW THIS--eyesight is not real great anyway. You can see the cracks in the two photos. I'm trying to be as honest as I know how. If you have an interest in it, you can call me and we can discuss the price. If no interest, I'm going to slide it under the bed and lick my wounds. Lots of lessons to be learned in life and at my age I shouldn't have let this get by me--oh, well. PRICE REDUCED--WAS $1099.00

For Sale: Two prewar conversions in the NorthEast, all work done by Robin Smith - $3,800 USD
I have a 1929 TB-1 conversion and and a 1928 TB-2 conversion to 5-strings, both restored to how they would have been if originally issued as 5-strings of their time period. I did cheat a little on the 1929 TB-1 and went with the gulls inlay from 1930...The dots from 1929 were just too bland. Classic and appropriate peghead shapes for each.dartmouth.edu/~smg6/pics_tb1.shtmldartmouth.edu/~smg6/pics_tb2.shtml
I could use some cash for a non-banjo project, so I'll offer these up for a bit to see what happens...
I'd prefer to not ship: I'd want to meet up in-person, let you try out one or both, see which one speaks to you, and go from there. BUT, if you have a preference and are OK buying without touching or deciding between the two, I may consider shipping a singe one as it arises.
***I will be down to Eastern PA and near Saratoga, NY at times. Willing to meet up and work with you.
Both are original and have the original tone hoop still. Full thickness (fatty!) and unmodified rims on both: I personally don't think they need tone rings at all, but you'd be all set to have one installed. Practically new Robin Smith necks on both: TB1 = straight grain maple neck with waverly tuners, TB2 = walnut neck with gotoh tuners. No issues whatsoever with either banjo except one: The TB1 has a pretty good scuff on the resonator, which is not structural at all but does go beyond the normal wear and tear of a 90 year old instrument. Robin does the best work I've ever seen. Gibson labels and FON numbers all intact and accounted for.
Ballpark pricing I figure to be
1929 TB1 = $3350, includes tweed 5-string hardcase, tenor neck with what seems to be original tuners, tenor hardcase
1928 TB2 = $3800, includes tweed 5-string hardcase, original tenor neck with original tuners, tenor hardcase, and what I believe may even be the original head!
...with both individually appraised for much higher. Formal appraisal from Rob Smith included for either one.
For collectors: You want the TB2, it's also featured here: earnestbanjo.com/gibson_banjo_...47-71.htm
For players: Whichever one speaks to you the best
They are super light (4 pounds less than a 'normal' tone ringed banjo), sound great, and are all original. The TB2 is slightly louder than the TB1. I don't screw around with them, so their setup is solid. My seller rating rocks: I'll make sure you're a happy camper.
***You can only have one!! :-) ...Although an even $7000 would be darn tempting. Think of all the damage I could do with that!! :-)
I had both done and thought that I would sell the one that I like less...I really can't choose. I personally prefer the feel and sound of the TB1, but the TB2 is slightly 'better' with volume and ring. So since I can't choose, I'll let fate do it for me. I'm truly happy with either one. They both rock and have great bluegrass grit.

Want to Buy: WTB early 1980s Stelling Whitestar
I am looking to buy a stelling whitestar from early 1980s. I need to it be in its original unaltered factory floor condition, no "rim upgrades" , just the original 3 ply rim as it was made. I don't want this thing shined up either, I prefer the nickel to be normally tarnished. Also , I need it to include the original stelling case it came with, case can be in any condition.

For Sale or Trade: On Hold : Bonefaas Banjo - 12" Classic - $3,000 USD
For sale is a Bonefaas classic 12" banjo. After more than a year I got my beautiful Bonefaas banjo a few weeks ago. It's a piece of art and looks and sounds great. I just found out after some hours of playing it, that it is somehow not "meant" for me. Difficult to explain, but you banjo people might understand, what I mean.
Find more information and specs on the Bonefaas website: johannesbonefaas.com/
The banjo is as good as new and will be shipped in the original package. Or you could pick it up in Switzerland near Zurich.
I might consider a trade, just let me know, if you have something to offer. Feel free to ask questions in the forum discussion.

For Sale: New John Hartford Deering (Standard Resonator/Scale) - $3,300 CAD ($2,603.47 USD)
Bought it 2 months ago brand new and now have to sell one of my 3 banjos! Nice rich sound with strong mid range. Like new and beautiful wood grain finish. It is good and loud even with Grenadillo ring. I do really like the neck shape. My luthier says it is the nicest Hartford he has seen/heard for what that is worth. He set action perfectly and it is very easy playing. Also remarkably light for a resonator banjo. Not much more to say, it is mint, plays well and looks 'showroom'. Also, comes with really nice upgraded 2016 Deering case (better than old Deering cases). The price is firm given retail price (example: $4900 Cdn at Janet Davis), so please no deal seekers or banjo traders. Time to visit beautiful Vancouver BC! Come on up, Canada is on sale with the exchange rate!!

For Sale or Trade: 1997 Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard - $3,500 USD
1997 Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard. All Original. I have owned quite a few re-issue Gibsons throughout the years and this one was hands-down the best of the bunch. Loud, clear and growly just like they should be. They are not all created equal. Frets are in great shape and has spikes installed. There are a few very light beltmarks on the resonator. Beautiful wood and workmanship. It had a Shubb 5th string capo when I bought it so there are two small mounting holes where it used to be. I can include the Shubb if interested. The neck plays awesome. A great Gibson banjo that actually sounds as good as it looks. Original Gibson case.
I have included a video of this banjo in the More Info URL.
