A Classic Clifford Essex 5 string banjo made by Alfred Weaver (No doubt!) in a good
playable condition. I'll add the pro's and con's for those who are interested:
- All parts original except the stringholder (ebony / copied) and the 5th string tuner knob
(ebony: carefully copied as well!)
- Ebony fingerboard that is flattened out but original on an absolutely straight neck.
- Original tuners. They work well. Some problems sometimes with the 5th string tuner
but this part can be removed and taken care for if necessary.
- The pot (also the wood) still is in great shape but the silver coating is about 50 %.
- No deformations of the pot of any kind. New original goatskin on it.
- New frets for the entire fingerboard.
- The Dowell stick has the Clifford Essex information with an added W (London West)
- The Alfred Weaver spoon shaped heel.
- The immediately recognizable inlay of the position markers.
- Costs of sending are for the buyer.
