Originally this was an old fretless short scale banjo from the late 1800's or early 1900's but as you can see from the pics, it is no longer original...It has an 11 9/16" rim with a rolled ring on button head nails and looks like SS Stewart made..The neck has had some repairs including a birdseye maple fretboard with a zero fret...The neck attachment has been changed to a Puntolillo style system with an inner rod and brass tube spacer instead of a dowel stick..The scale length is approx 23 3/4"..The 5/8" rosewood bridge is notched for us fat finger people and is 1 7/8"... This is a very easy playing banjo with low string height and a nice warm, resonant tone
