Iida banjo model 232-1. Twenty-four bracket with metal tone ring on multi-ply wooden pot. Maple resonator and mahogany neck. Serial number is on the back of the headstock underneath the finish. It reads: 232-1-L04823. According to what I have read on Banjo Hangout the L in the serial number places the year of manufacture at 1969. There are no markings stating country of origin but during that period Iida only produced banjos in Japan.
Neck is thick and action is nice. Weight is a very comfortable five pounds. Sound is bright and banjo is a great step up from beginner models. No hard case but will throw in a non-padded gig bag w/shouder strap.
