Very clean neck conversion 40 hole archtop TB-3.
S/N 9478-148, one of the last TPF -3's (-155 is the very last I believe)
This is one of the cleanest -3's you will find with all of it's prewar hardware intact
and pristine.
The tension hoop is a pre war replacement as there was once
an unknown vintage hoop on the banjo.
It has a beautiful Don Bryant style 3 neck with the original pancake tuners installed
and a later model 5th string tuner with a prewar button.
Very nice curly maple in the neck with distinct striping throughout.
Easy playing Don Bryant signature "V" in the neck from the 1st fret to the 5th.
Clean seasoned calfskin head (not original) treated to resist humidity.
New guardian HSC, and the tenor neck and case are included. The tenor case is
in good usable condition after nearly 81 years of use.
Please be aware this banjo does not have the typical tone associated with a 40 AT.
It's mellow, sweet, and full, with plenty of pop to cut through when needed.
As in the past, I will give a 24 hour approval period.
May also consider a partial trade, let me know what you have(new/like new 5string), and we'll talk.
Other things are tugging at me right now or I would not be selling.
