A beautiful 2009 Deering Sierra with maple vine & pearloid dot inlay pattern on the neck. The only thing that prevents me from listing this banjo as mint is some slight tarnish on the arm rest, as you would expect. Also, there is a minor 1/4" cosmetic indent to the back veneer on the resonator between the 12 o'clock and 1 o'clock position (see photo). The indent stands out in the picture more than it does in person and came this way from Guitar Center. I purchased this as "New, Old Stock" from a Guitar Center store in California in December of 2011. It has been professionally set up and has a poweful, rich, and balanced tone all the way up and down the neck. The volume compares favorably to my Golden Era, and that is saying a lot. The '06 Deering ring lends itself extremely well to bluegrass and melodic styles, both. I'm selling to make room for a Hatfield Buckcreek. The banjo comes with an "as new" durafoam case w/ backstrap. If you are near the Dayton, Ohio area you are more than welcome to stop by and play it before buying. Contact me via The Hangout if you have any questions or would like to see it in-person. Serious inquiries only, please.
