Hey Everyone!
I have here a perfect example of a bluegrass axe! Its a 1926 Style 2 conversion Gibson. In excellent shape to be 86 years old. As you can see, the only rough part on the banjo is the resonator, which appears to be worn a little, but has no effect on sound of course. This banjo plays like a million bucks, and has a powerful, yet mellow tone all across the board. Excellent bridge by Tim Purcell at Purcell Bridges. Excellent tone.
I can't stress enough how great of a banjo this is. Its loud, easy on the hands, and has a sweet tone that will have people asking what kind of banjo you got! (at least, it happens to me?) Great conversation piece as well.
I have played this banjo on many shows and tours and it hasn't let me down yet.
The reason for sale is I have 2 banjos, and I want to thin out the heard. It also scares me a bit to take such a nice piece of bluegrass history on the road every week. Its not that I don't love the sound of this banjo, Its just not to my personal taste.
It needs a better home. This banjo NEEDS played.
Price is $2,600. Would also like to trade/partial trade for an older martin guitar.
Shoot me an email and lets talk!
Thanks and God Bless!
