well if your looking to venture into something differant with the banjo then maybe this would interest you? i traded for this recently not so much to keep but to maybe put into the hands of someone maybe looking for a 6 string banjo,its a morgan monroe mnb-6 rocky top and i am confident has not been played much at all,there is practicaly no fret wear at all,this does have an arched fingerboard,the back of the resonator looks exellent with no belt buckle rash,the sound of this is very unique sounding almost a cross between an openback and an electric banjo,for it sounds almost as if it is electrified!,it has a plunky openback kind of sound and may be because the head is currently rather loose and will leave the tightness up to the person whom gets it...the ring is not exactly a round hoop nor a mastertone style ring either but does have a brass ring thats about 3/16" wide and aprox 1/2" tall ,the ring has a seperation (shown just above the coordinator rod) shown in the last pic but is solidly mounted and does not seem to affect anything....this does come in the hard foam cordura case (morgan monroe) and has a small unsewn area at the back of the case (shown in pic) but can be easely repaired...i would listen to interesting trades on guitars/5 string banjos/mandolin/? so if you have any questions feel free to ask,thanks
