I am administering my late brother's estate. He passed away June 30, 2012 from a brain tumor. He waited 20 years to buy this banjo and purchased it brand new January 2012. By that time, he was no longer able to play.
It listed at $4,445 and he paid $4,000 for it. I am not a musician. After considering some advice from banjohangout members, I'll take the hit on depreciation like a new car that was taken off the lot and the fact it's not considered "out of the box new" since he owned it. But I do want to emphasize that his medical condition took a turn for the worse after his purchase and it's not used at all.
I live in Florida; the banjo is in Wisconsin.
