Gibson J. D. Crowe Blackjack - 2004
Here is a great example of the sought after 2004 model Blackjack. 24 karat gold plated over copper flashing with mahogony resonator and neck. RR Spikes at 7, 8, 9, 10, & 12th fret. Mother of Pearl inlay on headstock and rosewood fingerboard. Banjo shows light play wear on finish with light wear on frets. No major dings or dents. Serial # 75-0405-31. Strap does not come with banjo. Will include new TKL hard shell case.
Most of you know that Gibson banjo production was halted by the 2010 Nashville floods and no more have been made since! This model was only produced about 5 years so it is sure to be a collector's item. Nice, warm, rich sound from this mahogony banjo with clear, Gibson ring! Gold plating has been worn some due to cleaning. Please see pictures for condition of finish. Brand new Sosebee Red Maple Bridge. Very clean Blackjack. Have one too many and need to move this banjo. Autographed by JD Crowe during our concert at Mill Town Music Hall in Bremen Georgia. JD will tour no more after this year. He is hanging it up!
