This banjo consists of a complete (100%) Huber pot assembly (including resonator) with a Gibson style neck.
It has all the great tone one would expect from a Huber. The play-ability is excellent as well, with low action and a slim, fast mahogany neck.
The rim is Huber's original style, hide-glue 3-ply maple (no label). It has the Vintage Flathead 20-hole tone ring. The neck has a rosewood fretboard with a double-cut peghead, and the classic flying eagle inlay pattern. The finish on the neck has been removed in the playing area, which is a big plus in the current hot and humid conditions. Fifth string capo spikes are installed. The tuners are Waverly 2-band, and are as smooth as they come. It comes set-up with a Huber head and bridge, and Presto tailpiece. All hardware is nickel plated.
It shows minimal play wear overall. The frets are in great shape. The wood is excellent as well. The resonator appears to have the vintage style finish, not the high gloss that a lot of banjos come with.
If you've been considering the purchase of a mahogany Huber banjo, this one would be a great alternative, and at a significant savings over current used pricing.
