My much loved and cared for 17 fret tenor banjo, which alas I no longer play having been bitten by the five string bug. I purchased this instrument from Tony Sullivan in 1995 at a price of £875. (Serial No 0179). Despite many hours of use it still retains its excellent condition. The flange is removable one section at a time to convert to an open backed and somewhat lighter banjo. The see - through head does have plectrum marks on it but that is to be expected on a used banjo. It has a bell bronze flat head tone ring and all parts are of the finest quality. Also comes with a custom made extra strong black case. Hand built by John Hullah and endorsed by Tony Sullivan ex. Irish Banjo Champion.
Collection in person is preferred as I believe one should always play and listen to any instrument before making a purchase. This banjo rings load and clear but personal tastes vary and I would like to think that the next owner will love this banjo as much as I have.
