This banjo is in excellent condition and is one of the early ones. Serial number 314, it is the 15th Staghorn made. It is one of the best models produced by one of the best companies during what many to believe to be there best era of production. It has the block rim, ebony fretboard, a walnut headstock overlay and is hand signed by Geoff Stelling on both the rim and the resonator. It has a rich, thick "hollow log" tone and response. No holes tone ring and railroad spikes on the 7th, 9th, 10th and 12th frets. There is a little more volume on the fourth string over other Stellings I have tried and the neck is just a bit thinner with a more comfortable neck profile. The only wear to mention is a little fret wear and some light scratches(but no checking) and wear on resonator. Other than that it is in pristine condition. Everything is original: Tuners, Case, it even has the original bridge. Sorry my camera doesn't pick up the details better.
