1997 Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard. This is the banjo I used for my tone ring tests on BHO a while back. I tried out a half dozen Scruggs models from all eras before I settled on this one for it's consistent build quality and a great sounding rim. I could tell right away that it had something special. It has a powerful, punchy tone all the way up and down the neck with sparkling highs and growling bass. It just doesn't run out of gas. Very well balanced. Gibson/Kulesh ring. Also comes with original Gibson hardshell case. Whoever ends up with it will be a happy camper. If your looking for a powerful punchy tone similar to Earl's 1950's recordings this is it. If your looking for mellow and mild this isn't it. Listen to a sound sample of this banjo below in the "More Info URL" box. Email for more information. Thanks for looking.
