Genuine 1920's Fairbanks-Vega Whyte Laydie body/Pot, tone ring, hooks, etc matched to a high class reproduction neck. The Body I believe came off an old Tenor Banjo and has been expertly matched to the reproduction Fairbanks neck. The detail work alone is outstanding, the neck is a beautiful piece of flamed maple/ ebony/ maple laminate as per the originals for strength, coupled with a top class ebony fingerboard. Being a modern neck it also benefits from no age related issues, along with zero fret wear. The inlays are a work of art in their own right, they being the work of Dave Stacey (see his web page for further info) and match in my opinion the quality of the original engravers, if not suspassing them. Daves work I believe has a long waiting list ,so why wait when you can have a high quality vintage banjo now? The tuners are top of the range Waverley items as you would expect on a quality instrument such as this, with real horn buttons. The perch pole I belive is a modern item, but retains the original serial number, which matches the original one on the pot. The metal name plate attached to the pole is engraved "The AC Fairbanks Co Makers, Boston Mass", which was added for the previous owner during the restoration. It also comes with a modern hard shell case.
