This is an early 20s Gibson TB Banjo, originally a Trap-door model but you can see the trapdoor is gone. Converted from original guitar style tuners to metal friction pegs (if I were to keep this I would probably put regular banjo tuners on it although you might have to dowel the holes to do so). The peghead looks like something was brushed over the top, and there is some of that clear stuff on the fingerboard also (very thin). Neck is straight, frets in decent shape with some wear on the first few frets only, but the fingerboard extension goes upward somewhat so you would need to get that down to play past the 15th or 16th fret (not too hard to heat, weigh down and bend back into alignment but I don't want to risk it so that's up to the next owner, or you could raise the action with a higher bridge but are you really playing up there anyway?). A few replaced hook nuts. No tears in the skin head, and the serial number (11671-13) is on the dowel, the rim, and also written on the inside of the head which I am sure was done later. Original case has unfortunately been covered with black tape, and a makeshift handle is on it now, but case is still functional. Considering all these issues, I have this priced at $425 OBO plus $30 to ship in the US, and email me if you need a quote outside the US. Email with questions and thanks for looking.
