Hi everyone,
I have a nearly mint condition JD Crowe Goldstar. It's a killer banjo and has the volume and most of all, TONE ... I love this banjo, but am going to be selling this one along with a '27 granada conversion to make room for one of our new custom Native American themed banjos. I own Lakota Leathers strap company and am going to be putting all of my future banjo efforts into promoting our soon to be released Native themed banjos. Because of this, I'll no longer be playing or using this great banjo. I don't want to see this one sitting in it's case, so I'm going to pass it on to the next person to cherish it. It's not going to go cheap, because only 80 of these were ever produced. It's one of the very first ones to come across the pond and is made with northern Michigan maple. It has a single piece resonator unlike the later Crowe models and doesn't have the somewhat cheesy sunburst that the later ones had. This one retains all of it's original parts including genuine mother of pearl tuner buttons, and it's original case. I believe that someone may have replated the armrest at some point because it has a slightly different color gold than the rest of the banjo. The gold on the tuners has faded somewhat, but other than that, it's in pristine condition. It sounds great and plays great. I simply love this banjo, but the time has come to part with it... I challenge you to find a better instrument, current or otherwise for any price.
I'd be intersted in swapping for a vintage convertible from the 50's, 60's or 70s. I'm not interested in something I'll have to restore, or a mint condition show car, but something that is a daily driver... Not interested in any banjos or anything else really except perhaps silver bullion. email me at kenny@lakotaleathers.com with any offers
