New figure mahogany neck with ebony head plate and heel cap. Ebony fingerboard with 18% nickle silver fret wire. Figure maple and ebony binding.
neck is1 1/4 inch wide at the nut and 2 inches at the heel. Very comfortable and low action. Easy to play.
2 way adjustable truss rod with ebony truss rod cover.
new nickle plated brass planetary tuners with ebony buttons.
Mother of pearl inlays and abalone side dots.
Neck is finish with 7 coats of tung Oil and 3 coats ofhard wax.
Rim has it's original finish in very good condition. A few smal dinks and scratches but nothing deep. Very nice for it's age.
I gave the neck a 4,2 degree angle for a low action but with plenty of space over the head with the 3/4 inch bridge for easy fraling. Action is 2,8 mm at the 12th fret.
5th string spikes can be added at no charges.
Great sounding banjo tipical to Vega.
