Have a custom made wood topped banjo here, with a scooped neck, for sale or trade.
I originally bought this banjo in the past year from Banjo hangout's own "jomando"
http://www.banjohangout.org/luthier/jomando
As I remember, its rock maple with a laminated spruce top (Sitka, I think) and was made by Joe originally to sell at a clawhammer fest for beginner players to have a cheap but solid instrument to learn on.
He sold a couple he had left over on here, and I think I paid $200, but originally they were $300.
The banjo itself has a comfortable full scale neck and a warm quiet tone that falls, predictably, between a guitar and a banjo.
I think it's surprisingly louder than expected, and I don't play with finger picks.
It does not have a truss rod and Joe said he had these for a long time without a problem with action.
I can say that the action has remained the same in the time I've had it.
Another nice feature is that it is really light and can be played without a strap.
Asking $160 shipped to the lower 48.
For the record, I really like the banjo, but was just given a Goodtime by a buddy and would like to repay the favor.
Willing to trade straight up for either an LR Baggs M1a pickup, or an LR Baggs Para DI.
If needed, I can provide further pictures or video, just loading the pics I took for Craigslist at the moment.
