This banjo is a project that is a very good instrument unto itself. The original maker is from Michigan and indicated the following: the rim is block maple, the tone ring is a JLS #12, the neck, fingerboard, and peghead (finished by the fellow putting this together) is mahogany and was made by Bryan England. The fifth string peg is a "5-Star" and the rest of the metal parts are from Saga. I replaced the original resonator with the one shown in the picture because I liked the ornate inlaid; however, I am including the additional resonator in case the buyer wants one that is a closer match. There are 2 things that I had planned to do that the buyer will likely want to do as well: 1- work on the nut because IMO the G slot is too wide; 2- replace the gizmos that attach the resonator to the flange (which I am also including). The case was recently bought new for a different banjo and it is included as well.
So why sell the banjo? Actually, it is something that plays and sounds good just like it is; however, time to work on these things is not possible right now so I have decided to sell. Let me know if you have any questions.
