For Sale: Gold Tone OB-250 with Hard Case - $800 USD

I purchased this OB-250 through a dealer in 2000 when living and teaching school in Tampa, Florida. Tenor banjo is my instrument, but I love Bluegrass music and had hoped to be able to find the time needed to begin playing the 5-string. It never happened, and the banjo has been in its case, un-used since the day I bought it. Never played, I have listed the instrument as "used-mint condition". Since I have never played 5-string, the instrument is not really "used", and the only sign of age on the instrument is that some of the metal has dulled. Perhaps a metal polish will take care of that; I have never tried. I am selling the banjo with a beautiful hard case from Gold Tone. A new OB-250 without the case has a suggested retail price today of $1,538.00 (see Gold Tone website: http://www.goldtone.com/products/details/w/instrument/38/OB-250). At $800.00 for both, I am hoping that this beautiful instrument will find a new home and a banjo-picker eager to play it. Here's a paraphrase of what Gold Tone has to say about this instrument: "The Orange Blossom OB-250 represents the staple of Gold Tone's bluegrass-style banjo line.  It has been one of the highest selling banjos in the Gold Tone line for the last 15 years and is the basis of many inspired additions going above and beyond the call of duty.  This banjo is a tone monster that will certainly raise brows at your local jam.  The flat-top 20-hole bell brass tone ring coupled with a 3-ply Canadian maple rim and a complete setup at the Gold Tone Factory in Florida, the OB-250 may well be the last banjo you will ever need!" Give me a call if you'd like to drop by to have a look. Ron
