as usual, I stumbled on something I'd like to buy so I will try to sell my beautiful Woodsongs Vega as it is set up. It's about 2 months old. It has nylon(fishing line) strings and I'm not going to change it back. If it sells, it will be as set up. The nylon strings give it a warm, woody tone with good volume...perfect for vocal back-up.
I am not a fan of the gold painted parts that come on the Woodsongs so I changed them out for bright nickel. I bought the tension hoop from Deering and the rest from Stew-Mac. I added a post nut for the 5th string, Grover tuners and a long Shubb capo. I replaced the black plastic head which was very bright with a white frosted Weatherking. The new head is kept tight with new Rickard hooks and closed end nuts.
The mahogany neck in this banjo is the nicest playing long neck I have. I have been using a 3/4 bridge I bought here on the BHO which does not have an ebony strip. I also will include some labeled pieces of fishing line as extra strings. These tie to the Kerschner tail-piece just like a classical guitar string. I have a nylon 4th string on it from the Aquilla all-nylgut set. I prefer this string because it sounds great and wears like iron. I will also include a couple of wound 4th's for comparison. Banjo comes in an excellent Deering case
I will consider reasonable offers...
