I have a 1925 Vega Tubaphone with an 11 13/16" large pot and recently made Vega style 5 string neck. The neck was well made in maple, and looks like a traditional simple Vega neck, single star and bound in white. I do not have a case for this instrument. The neck is as new, not a scratch. The pot shows some normal wear but is in very good shape. There are some scrapes on the dowel rod, but the serial numbers are plain to see. The original Tubaphone tone ring is in excellent condition. It has a fiberskyn head and a new no-knot tailpiece. This banjo doesn't need anything, it is set up well and ready to play!
I am interested in trading it for a Whyte Ladie 11" 5 string banjo. I am interested in both vintage Vegas and modern builders who use the Whyte Ladie tone ring. Let me know what you have!
I will also consider selling the Tubaphone outright for $1650 + shipping.
