C. 1930 Gibson TB-3 (#9465-34), 40-hole archtop one piece flange Mastertone conversion by Frank Neat, who turned the rim (pre-war, long-skirt flathead cut) and built the replica leaves & Bows 5-string neck. This estate find came to me with all metal parts (including prewar pancake tuners) completely original, right down to the last L-bracket screw. The mahogany resonator finish with concentric circles is original and exceptionally nice. The back of the neck has no dents or dings, with very minor finish wear on one side of the neck in the first position. Original 30's pre-war one-piece flange replaces the cracked flange found on the banjo, and fit perfectly without altering the rim at all, & has minimal warping. The tonering is a 20-hole Dannick flathead. The banjo is in excellent condition in all respects, and plays and sounds great. Included is a high quality 30 year old 5-string case with insulated zippered case cover. The original tenor neck had the correct prewar 30's style #3 inlays, but the headstock was a bowtie shape. The tenor neck was likely sent back to the factory in the late 1940’s or early 1950’s, and was returned to the owner with the then-current style peghead shape, and with original inlays, tuners, etc.) The original tenor neck as well as the original flange are also included. Shipping and insurance paid by buyer. (907) 441-2653
