Gibson TB 100 tenor banjo serial number 4-2522-172. Rim is about 1/2" in thickness and 2 13/16" deep. I am not well versed about Gibson banjos and purchased this one for nostalgia reasons as I began tenor banjo lessons in 1954 (on a Vega) and wondered what, if anything, I had missed?
Therefore, I've taken several photos for you to see and evaluate the banjo. The armrest is a golden gate. A proper armrest is in the case but it lost its lustre and I didn't like the dull appearance. The neck is nice and straight, action with 1/2" bridge at 12th fret is 3/16". The back of the neck is pretty smooth but there are 3 small indentations where somebody (not me) leaned it up against a chair. I really don't see any fret or fingerboard wear. Many of the bracket hooks have a fine "film" of corrrosion and the flange is dirty but doesn't look oxidized. Overall, the hardware still has some sparkle. The peghead has a few bruises on the sides but they are kind of small and not eye catching. Comes with Gibson case. Buyer to pay shipping and shipping thru Fed Ex will probably be about $50.
