I bought this banjo used in 2003 as a present for my wife, who was going to try to learn to play. She stuck with it for about a month. I have not played this banjo because I have another Nechville, as well as other banjos. As can be seen in the photos, this is a beautiful banjo in maple with Cascade inlay and black binding with a white stripe. The fingerboard is radiused. I have replaced the original metal armrest with a Comfort Bevel armrest in a wood that is a good color match, and have swapped out the original rim for Nechville's Cyclotronic (ball bearing) tone ring mounting system. The banjo thus has the current bells and whistles. There are slight signs of fret wear, some marks on the head, and a few scratches from strings in the black plating on the tailpiece. The banjo is otherwise very clean. The banjo is set up with a 3/4" bridge--I have never adjusted the neck, but I have put on a new Nechville Enterprise bridge. This is a comfortable, easy playing, great sounding banjo. TKL hard shell case included.
