I bought this banjo new in 1983, when I had the OME dealership for SC. I played it in a band for 20 years, sold to a cousin, the rebought it a few weeks ago. It was unplayed for 9 years. The wood is near perfect, the binding has aged, turn yellowish. It is an all maple banjo with ebony fingerboard. It was refretted a few years before it was retired. The serial# is 2729. It has the original OME case with banjo, with years of wear, stickers, but still soild as a rock. There a few places the nickel parts show use, and the armrest has worn through in one area. Like I said it was played for 20 years. The head shows wear form playing, gives it character, banjo is a "hoss", it never let me down, sounds great with the Shuffy Smith bridge on it. I had the inlays upgraded to abolone when I bought it which was a $125 upgrade then. It really looks good on the banjo too. I also have an OME Monarch for sale at this time too, If it sells first, this banjo will not be sold, and will be removed. Pics will follow.
