In excellent original condition, this Special Thoroughbred, made about 1900 (serial number 70953), has Grade 3 inlays and heel carving. The neck is straight and the strings clear the 22nd fret by about 5/32 inches. The Grover friction pegs and reproduction No Knot tailpiece are not original. The only flaws are a chip out of the top back of the peghead (visible in one of the photos ) and some wear on the nickel plating of the fittings. This banjo has an 11.5 inch rim and a 27.5 inch scale. It comes with a like-new Harptone plush case.
