I have a very interesting banjo for sale. It is a 1979 Deering Advanced which later had its name changed to Maple Blossom. This was the 14th of this model made and was Deering's top o' the line when Greg Deering first split off from Stelling banjos. It is a Gibson Style banjo with a multi-ply maple rim and traditional bronze (brass?) tonering. The neck and body are nice birds eye maple stained a dark brown. Neck is classic deering - sleek and fast. Deering has since gone on to become one of the most prominent banjo companies in the world. This Banjo sounds and plays great. I have had the Banjo for about 15 years and kept it in nice shape. There is some light belt buckle scuffing on the resonator, one missing screw from where it attaches to the resonator, one missing flange piece (hidden by strap) and some spots of where on the back. The deering name plate in MOP has fallen out (seems to be the one flaw in these banjos) but could easily be replaced or customized :)The bridge and head have been replaced and rail road spikes have been installed at the 5th and 7th fret. Comes with a black hardshell case. Great banjo for a beginner or an expert looking to upgrade to a full on ax! $1650 or best offer. (New maple blossom retail $3,999)
