Up for sale is my Recording King RK-O25 open back 5 string banjo and a Superior Openback Trailpak banjo bag. I did a lot of research through local stores and online before settling on this model of Recording King. After searching for a couple of weeks I found and bought this one from a guitarist who purchased it earlier this year from a local string store. He wasn't able to untrain his brain after coming from years of playing an axe so it sat in his music studio unused for a few months until I took it off his hands at the end of this summer; I've been playing it for a couple of months now and it has been nothing but brilliant. I wouldn't normally have any intention of selling it except that I've been getting weekly lessons from a professional banjo player and it's becoming clearer to me that I want a resonated banjo even though in the beginning I liked the warmth of playing three finger bluegrass on an open back.
This banjo has two week old strings (medium gauge) and has been professionally set up and adjusted by my instructor as he is a Recording King dealer. The connecting rods have been checked, the head tension was checked (it's an F# if it makes any difference), the truss rod was very slightly adjusted to remove a vibration, and he compensated the bridge on the 3rd string to remove an intonation imbalance. I'm asking $375 plus shipping which includes the nice Superior bag and the banjo (however strap and tuner not included), but also I'm open to offers. Feel free to ask me any questions you have.
