Fretless 5-String Banjo (13-inch pot)
I have been making banjos with the object being to make a basic, almost primitive banjo similar to the ones common around the Civil War era. I also wanted to come up with a banjo that had a good sound and would be very playable for clawhammer style.
Pictures show some examples of the banjos I make. Banjos are priced $200 to $350, depending upon features requested.
Banjos have 13" three-ply white oak pots, maple necks, calfskin heads, and fiddle tuners. The necks are scooped in order to give plenty of room for frailing and still keep close action where the neck is played.
Basic tackhead model with square headstock is $200, plus $25 shipping.
These banjos are very basic, but very playable. If you are looking for something with perfect fit and finish (factory banjo), these banjos are not right for you. If you are looking for something that really does the trick for old time music, these banjos sound and work great.
Satisfaction is guaranteed. If you purchase a banjo and discover that it really isn't right for you, I will refund your money, less shipping costs, once the banjo is returned.
Buyer pays flat rate of $25.00 for shipping within the continental US (includes insurance). The exception being areas where carriers charge special fees. Cost to ship international will be calculated based on buyer's location.
Please note that we are attempting to simplify our product line and will not be making tensioning banjos or banjo with mechanical tuners at the moment.
Thanks! --Eric
