Hi all! I am selling my pre-war Style 11 banjo that has been converted from a tenor, TB-11 Gibson (circa 1930's) , to a five-string with the rim cut for a flat head, long skirt Jerry Sloan no-hole, long skirt tone ring (batch 113). It features a "Gibson USA" one-piece flange, all new nickle hardware, a used Presto tailpiece (don't know for sure if it is pre-war, but looks it? A Remo head (high profile), Purcell old organ maple/ebony compensated 11/16", and Waverly Vintage V-2 tuners, and a Waverly fifth string peg, all with ivoroid tuning buttons. It has a Bill Hayes double-cut peghead neck with Wreath style inlays on a Brazilian Rosewood flat fingerboard. The neck has a profile borrowed from an original Gibson Style 1 pre-war neck...with a slight v-profile...very smooth and easy playing. It has railroad spikes at the "A" and "B" (7th and 9th) frets. The neck has a translucent blue finish over the mahogany, and the resonator has been re-finished to protect the original finish. This is one fine playing and sounding Style 11. It hasn't been played much in the year since I have owned it, and will make a weekend warrior or gigging pro a fine and treasured instrument! I hope someone will see the value and high craftsmanship that Bill Hayes and I have put into making this great banjo!
