Up for grabs is a new walnut and maple open back 5 string banjo. The banjo looks good, sounds good and plays easy. You can hear this banjo being played by me by going to my BHO music page, scroll down the list of tunes, and click on Texas Gales played in double C tuning DCGCG.
Parts (not including labor) to build this banjo cost me $250.00. Please consider this when making an offer. Thanks!
The banjo specifics are as follows:
11" Pot: Made for from walnut and maple and has a 3/16" round steel tone ring. It has a new skin head. All the metal parts are new except the vintage neck attachment hardware.
Neck: Also made from walnut and maple. It has a non-adjustable steel reinforcement rod, new geared tuners, MOP position dots, walnut overlays on the peghead and heel, and bone nuts. The scale is the standard 26 1/4". The fret board is 1 1/4" wide at the nut and 1 7/8" wide at the end.
String action is 3 mm above the 12th fret.
The banjo weighs in at 6 lbs. There is no case but the banjo will be carefully packed and shipped insured via USPS retail ground.
Please email with any questions you may have.
