I bought this banjo (#3892) in Sept. 2013 from a Hangout member. I liked it so much that I bought a Reiter "A Flat" which has a 24 3/4" scale. I found that the shorter scale worked best for me so I bought a Sagmoen short scale the first of this year and no longer need the Buckbee.
I have the Buckbee set up with a black painted (on the inside) Renaissance head, Aquila "Super Nylguts" and a walnut bridge and tailpiece. The original "no knot" tailpiece will be included along with a new set of AMB cryo strings, the original ebony topped bridge and a couple of bridges for use with nylon strings. The Buckbee has a mahogany neck. I'll ship the banjo in a new, "Musician's Friend" hard case (with padding as the case is for a resonator banjo.)
If you want the Nyguts but don't want the walnut tailpiece, I'll set the Nylguts up on the "No Knot". I'll also set the banjo up with steel strings on the No Knot tailpiece.
There is a nick in the neck as shown in the picture. There is a RR spike at the 7th fret.
Here's how the banjo sounds as it's set up now: banjohangout.org/myhangout/med...archived=
