1924 Gibson TB-4 tenor banjo (f.o.n. 11917-5) Very late "trapdoor" model with Lloyd Loar designed ball bearing tone tube setup. Straight neck with minimal fret wear. 10.5" rim, 19" scale. Three piece maple-ebony-maple neck with 27-fret extended ebony fingerboard, maple rim, dual coordinator rods, silver plated tailpiece cover and tuner plates, pearl nut, trapdoor resonator with Cremona finish and "The Gibson" script logo abalone inlay in the peghead. Recently mounted skin head. All matching, original hooks and nuts. Great player with a wonderful set up. Fine, old, plunky tone with plenty of volume. There's one purely cosmetic flaw, a crack in the ebony heel cap, otherwise exceptionally nice condition. Includes original hard case with green plush lining. $1095 OBO.
