This is a custom, only one in existence, 1981 Stelling "Longhorn" Top Tension longneck model. It has it all. Absolutely original and untouched, stored in a closet for many years. Geoff Stelling described the build as "Black" chromed over gold, then beautifully and elaborately engraved. Came new with gold Keith tuners on all 4 lower tuners (a $700 option today). Matching engraved Kershner tailpiece. Compensated bridge. The longneck version comes with 3 added frets and the added center "longhorn" inlay. I'm only re-selling this banjo because I wasn't aware Longhorn meant longneck and I'm not proficient enough to add this to my learning curve! If you are a collector or good enough picker to appreciate the added versatility of this banjo, you won't be disappointed...at all! I changed the old strings out but nothing else. Needs someone to lightly clean and polish it and set it up, but it has a magnificent sound from the low bass to the high trebles as it is. The head and frets show no play wear as it was owned by the original collector for 35 years. His son told me he had 2 banjos and over 70 collectible guitars. Geoff told me the current value could range from $7500 to $10,000. I will sell at the lower end here but will have to raise the price if it goes to Ebay or Reverb, to cover the fees. You won't be sorry you bought this banjo, for the sound or look. Thanks for your interest. All original paperwork, warranty, and unsigned Keith tuner warranty cards are included in the original high quality Stelling case.
