1929 Gibson Mastertone model MB-3
One of only 100 units produced from 1927-29, according to 'Spann's Guide To Gibson' book, which I highly recommend to any and all Gibson enthusiasts.
This banjo has all of the basic features of a two piece flange - raised head TB, PB, or RB-3 of the same era, but with a mandolin style neck.
Full thickness 3-ply maple rim, 40-hole raised head (archtop) tone ring, tube and plate flange, 24 bracket notched tension hoop with round hooks, dual coordinator rods, four (4) resonator 'L' brackets, double bound maple neck and resonator, Grover Patent Presto tailpiece, Gibson Mastertone label, (4) four resonator wall lugs with thumbscrews and a one-piece armrest.
It has one round hook, the tailpiece bolt and two brackets nuts that are not original parts. It also has a Remo top frosted head in place of the original hide head.
Will come shipped in it's original hard case with newer leather handle.
