This banjo was a special order through Warren Yates in January 2010. I can't play anymore, and am willing to sell my Yates Shelby. According to Warren, the Shelby was the predecessor to the Ron Stewart (RS) model of Yates banjos. Very few Shelby models were made and it was discontinued in 2010, so that they could concentrate full time on the RS model. This banjo sounds awesome, very much like the older Yates RS models. It is mahogany with distressed finish, V33 tone ring (no hole), and speed neck for easy play. RR spikes are installed on frets 7, 8, and 9. I have the original distressed-finish armrest that comes with this banjo, but it is not shown in the photos. This banjo with original case is in immaculate condition with only minor play marks on the head. It has not been played much for several years. This is a beautiful great-sounding instrument that needs a good home. Please, serious inquiries only.
