This banjo has a Hickler mahogany block rim with an integrated resonator and cocobolo wood tone rim. The rim is 11" in diameter, 2 5/8" deep (including int. reso.) and 3/4" in thick. The bottom of the int. reso. was flattened, tortoise shell binding added to the lower edge, and the "f" holes were added. The cocobolo tone ring is beveled to the inner edge. New hardware, No Knot TP, and amber Elite head. The 3-piece neck is a Vega/Bacon-style 2 star neck with a 26 1/4" scale. It is mahogany with an ebony center stripe. It has an ebony fretboard, peghead overlay, and heel cap. The neck is unbound and scooped at the 17th fret, bone nuts, 5th string spike at the 7th fret. The neck is attached to the rim using a wooden dowel stick using vintage Vega/Bacon neck attachment hardware. It has new 5-Star tuners. The banjo is a delight to play. Perfectly set-up with a 5/8" bridge, it has 3/32" clearance above the 12th fret. It has a strong, yet mellow tone that you might expect of an IR banjo with a wood tone ring. A mp3 sound file is posted on my BHO homepage. I've been using it at jams for the past 6 months, and it has become one of my favorites. I'll be glad to provide more/better photos and answer any questions. No case, but it will be very well packed. Price reduced from $950. to $895., plus exact shipping and ins. I'll discount that by 3% if you are willing to pay with a cashier's check or MO instead of PayPal.
