Early 80s Gold Star G-12 Banjo - Made in Japan
Blond maple neck with ebony center, curly maple resonator with dual concentric rings, tube and plate flange, nickel plated hardware, 5-Star tuners, ebony board with MOP hearts & flowers inlay. Fifth string spikes installed at 7-12. Missing one resonator thumbscrew. Set-up with a McPeake 11/16" bridge.
The original maple rim has been cut, converting this banjo from an archtop to a flathead. The 20-hole tone ring is of unknown origin. It weighs in at a hefty 62 oz. I'll include pics of it as well in case anyone here might know the maker.
The banjo will come shipped in the original hard case.
Asking $950 + shipping.
