A very nice, lightly played Mike Ramsey one-off 11 inch Short (24.25 Inch) scale "Whyte Laydie" open back banjo. The neck is made of flamed maple with a stained to match pot. A Vega style peghead with gryphon inlay and 5-Star brand planetary tuners. Scooped ebony fingerboard has MOP dot inlays with a star at the fifth fret and RR spikes at frets 7 and 9. Like the original Whyte Laydies this banjo has the traditional bracket band on the 11 inch maple rim and has a Renaissance head. The Chanterelle peghead has a really cool, engraved gryphon inlay. Looks like a new banjo except for a few light scratches on the rim cap and two very small marks on the back of the peghead. A Moon bridge was added to bring out its bass, and I think it sounds wonderful. If you are looking for a great old time jam instrument with that "electric" tone, it would be hard to find a nicer instrument than this one. This banjo has lived in a non-smoking humidity controlled environment and includes a regular size TKL hard case in excellent shape. Paypal is fine and I have 100% positive Ebay Feedback and a feedback score of 111. I have many satisfied buyers. Price: $1,600.00 USD Shipping: $50.00 to con. US Condition of Banjo: Used - Excellent Condition Type: 5-String Openback Brand: Ramsey
