Late 1970s Saga "Bowtie" Banjo - Made in Japan
.
Want a Gibson Bowtie banjo but don't have 3K or more to spend on one, then this just might be what your looking for at a fraction of the cost and sound fantastic too.
This unique Masterclone is the nicest one you will ever find.
The tone rings in these Older Saga banjos were cheap pot metal, very harsh sounding when it comes to tone. This one has been replaced with an RK no-hole tone ring and it sounds just awesome with an unbelievable improvement in tone and volume.
The RK tone ring formula was take from Earls banjo, yes that Earl.
This Tone Ring upgrade would cost you over $200 to have done.
These RK no-hole rings give a nice Deep Dry Sound.
"NO Fret Wear" and no dingers.
Fiddle Cut Mahogany Neck, and Resonator, Maple rim, nice low action, Two Piece Flange, Ebony fretboard, spikes on 7 + 9, Presto tailpiece, planetary Tuners, dual co-rods, Gibson style Bowtie inlays and Nickel Hardware all in like new condition. Has a new head and new strings and is all setup and ready to go.
This banjo has not been played much and is now better than when it was new.
