On good advice, I have lowered the price on this banjo-vintage prices have come down during the past few years. Now is the time to buy vintage. This banjo is now priced fairly at $1000 below the original listing
This banjo is an original B & D Medalist Silver Bell model tenor that I purchased from Elderly a few years ago. It now sports a beautiful Silver Belle #1 reproduction 5 string neck that I have owned for several years. The neck was produced at least 25-30 years ago. The maker is unknown. The original dowel stick from the tenor neck is now installed on the five string neck. Matching serial numbers on the dowel and the rim. The original tenor neck is included.
The banjo is gold plated and seems to be original plating, but worn in some areas. All the parts are present including the 4 string Oettinger style tailpiece. This 30’s rim with the f hole flange and Silver Bell no hole tone ring is the best combination to own. There is a phono jack installed-see pics-but not connected to anything-and a smaller plugged hole near the jack. One other area on the rim has two more tiny plugged holes. These areas have been retouched successfully. Tuners are high quality Pavel Gold plated early Grover pancake style with ivoroid buttons and a geared fifth. This banjo can be played either as an openback or with the resonator for a good bluegrass alternative style banjo.
Comes with a nice & sturdy 1970’/80’s case as pictured.
