Sullivan Festival Maple Banjo *Jam Series* - Serial #SJ-007 This banjo originally came with just a tone hoop, but now was outfitted with a new nickel plated Sullivan 20-hole flathead tone ring installed. This work was performed by master builder Arthur Hatfield of Glasgow, KY. Also has 5th string capo spikes installed (7th, 9th, 10th frets), and is set-up with a Hatfield compensated bridge. I bought it about 18 months ago, paid $995 for it and I am convinced that I do not have the time to really learn to play it and that is the ONLY reason I am selling it. No need for it to live, unplayed in its case. Proudly made in the USA using only top quality parts, this is a superb bluegrass banjo. It's all about great tone and playability, not fancy inlay, a high-gloss finish, or expensive engraved or gold plated parts. From FQMS.com: Sullivan Banjo Co. is proud to introduce the newest addition to our banjo family, The Jam Series. These banjos are setting a new mark for entry level banjos. With only the highest quality parts available used in their construction, the Jam Series allows the beginner and seasoned banjo player alike, an easy to play yet affordable American made banjo. The three new models are the Openback Jam, the Clawhammer Jam, and the Bluegrass Jam. Each model is available in either Mahogany or Curly Maple and all three models feature either a Rosewood or Ebony fretboard, deluxe two- way truss rod, pearl inlays, nitro lacquer finish, and hardware that is usually only reserved for much higher end banjos. More info, including the specs, at the link below. $895, including shipping in the lower 48. Insurance (highly recommended) is extra for all offers. Seller to cover the PayPal fee (2.9%) for full price offer. Lesser offers pad via PayPal will have 2.9% added to the cost of the banjo.
