Probably James Morrison Vintage 5-String Banjo
I believe this is a James Morrison banjo. The tag on the dowel rod is missing that would have the manufacturer's name. The pearl inlay is similar to Jas. Morrison banjos pictured on line. If anyone else has this particular model, I would appreciate any further information.
The neck is straight and the frets are in good condition. The bracket nuts may have been changed and the straight pegs may be replacements. There is a stress crack partway through the peghead but it does not go all the way through and the peg holds well.
Specifications are:
10 3/4 " Rim
30 brackets
Metal over wood spun rim
Walnut neck with maple center stripe
22 Frets
18 5/8 Finger board
Straight pegs
New Plastic Head
New strings and bridge
James Morrison of New York sold "patented steel hoop" banjos starting in the 1870's and they continued to be sold until 1912.
