From the Gibson Custom Shop, a 1989 'Greg Rich Era' RB-Bella Voce.
This is a reissue of a classic prewar design. All metal hardware is gold plated and heavily engraved. The wood has beautiful, detailed carving on both the neck and resonator. It has gold sparkle binding throughout.
This instrument retains all it's original parts. It features a rosewood neck and resonator, ebony fretboard, 3-ply maple rim, no-hole archtop to flathead conversion tone ring, tube and plate flange, dual co-dos, notched tension hoop, clamshell tailpiece, one piece armrest, pre-EPA Remo head, and Gibson marked tuners. The Mastertone label is hand signed by Greg Rich.
The banjo shows practically no playing time at all. It has zero fret or board wear that I can see. The gold plating is in near mint condition. The only wood finish imperfections noted are two (2) spots on the back of the resonator caused by it sitting on a stand for an extended period of time.
The banjo has incredible tone with the current set-up. It could be easily be converted to an archtop banjo without any modifications to the rim. Personally, I wouldn't change a thing. :^)
It will come shipped in a new Guardian 'Professional' fiberglass hard case.
I'm asking $7495, or best cash offer.
I'll also consider a trade-in + cash. I'm only interested in banjos though. No guitars, mandolins, dobros, fiddles, etc. please. Thank you.
