An absolutely beautiful, seldom played Gibson ESS, 2003 model, serial number 4438.
The wood on this banjo is the most striking I've seen on an ESS - the neck is an intricately striped tiger (curly) maple, with absolutely zero flaws on either the back of the neck or on the fretboard; the peghead is in flawless condition as well.
The resonator has two very light scratches on it, both approximately 1/2 inch long, however they haven't gone into the wood and likely could easily be buffed out.
The plating is all in pristine condition, with only a spot of tarnish here and there. A light metal polishing and buffing of the resonator would restore this banjo to 100% condition.
Shows no real signs of use, and needs to be played to mature the sound fully - With its gold-plated tone-ring, this one has the typical Gibson bark and growl, along with the punch of a cannon!
Spiked at 7, 9, 10 and 12; Keith D Tuners installed on 2nd and 3rd strings.
Dressed with Ernie Ball Earthwood light gauge strings, set up with a new Snuffy Smith standard bridge.
Replacement Golden Gate case in like new condition included.

Sorry, not interested in trades at this time - thinning the banjo herd in anticipation of a move this summer.
