This new dipper gourd banjo is a real sweetie! She is named MAGGIE (like all Dan Knowles instruments she is named). The gourd was specially grown for me in the garden of the HOMEPLACE 1850's in the U.S. Forrest Service's LAND between the Lakes. It's unusual good looks are only matched by its sweet full sound.
MAGGIE features:
An exceptionally straight thick walled dipper gourd
Bubinga Rosewood fingerboard
Indian Rosewood peghead overlay.
White leather tailpiece
Calf skin Head
Viola tuning pegs
Flower decorated upholstery tacks
Blue vintage upholstery trim
Nylon Strings
Knowles spruce Minstrel bridge
