This is a Whyte Laydie Style R conversion: SN 75658. It has an 11 1/2" original pot with all original hardward except the tailpiece, bridge and 5th string tuner. The neck is birdseye maple with a reproduction gryphon headpiece and accurate reproduction fret inlays. The neck is straight. The banjo shows very little wear and has no damage other than the usual small nicks and dings. There is some slight banding repair needed by the neck as can be seen in the pictures, although it has been this way since I bought the instrument in 1976...so what's the hurry? I have the banjo set up for my particular needs with soft head tightening and a wedge insert between the neck and pot. The buyer will need to readjust the play as desired. The banjo has good sound and nice response. Soft-shell case with an honest-to-goodness tongue-in-cheek Nixon-Agnew bumper sticker attached...ain't that sumptin?
