If you are looking for a beautiful Banjo this is the one. The craftsmanship on this banjo is second to none. From the master inlays to the total construction. It still has an old calfskin head and the Gryphan inlay is perfect and untouched. It has been professionally set up with great action and play ability. There is a small hairline crack on the heel and the head stock veneer which have both been repaired by a master repair person long ago and are both very unnoticeable but this is very common in the pair wood that they used back then. In the included period correct case you will find an old capo which was purchased with the banjo in 1909. I will also include a long write up written by Stan Jay of Mandolin Brothers in Statin Island who sold me the instrument where he appraises it to be around $4500. On top of all of this a very old recite is also in the case from when these banjos were still a few hundred dollars. (A LONG TIME AGO) You will not find another one like this. This is a dream banjo, and it is full of history. As far as sound goes. This is the most harmonically rich and tone full banjo I have ever played; and I've played many. I think the rim is a 10-3/4 diameter. The serial number is 25281. I'm going to miss it horribly so take good care of her please! Thanks and let me know if you need me to email you more pictures. This is a sale but If you have a Fender Custom Shop or Vintage Telecaster there's a slim chance I might be interested in that kind of trade.
